It seems so obvious to take horizontal videos but based on the number of people who still post vertically, it clearly isn’t. Vertical video is like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, you can do it but it looks SUPER UGLY! Most people shoot video with their cell phones in a vertical orientation and TV stations and youtube have compensated for this by filling in the black space with blurry, and sometimes magnified, versions of the original video just so parts of the screen aren’t blank. And sure, sometimes it’s just easier to hold your phone vertically in one hand to capture a scene but if you take the extra second to turn it sideways and use two hands, you’ll capture loads more resolution and your footage will look much more professional.
…so just say NO to vertical videos.
On March 26th we are focusing on a very powerful plugin that integrates video into beautiful (and horizontal) sliders. We will focus on best practices for taking videos. You are welcome to sign up on Eventbrite or read more about the workshop. It’s a pilot workshop so the cost is only $97.00 and there are only 5 spots available.
